Pope County Museum
Pope County Museum in Glenwood, Minnesota.
This chest was brought from Norway in 1859 by Greger Halvorson Stordahl. During the Indian outbreak of 1862 in Lake Johanna Township the family had to flee leaving the chest in their cabin. When the Indians came they chopped a hole in it looking for anything that they could use. This chest was donated to the Pope County Historical Society by Oscar Fiskerbeck, grandson of Greger Halvorson Stordahl.
