Skimaking
Tarjei had some very busy days at the Høstfest, but he really enjoyed it.

"A ski-maker all the way from Norway is taking a step back in time to bring a bygone craft to life. Tarjei Gjelstad is making wooden skis the same way craftsmen in his native Telemark, Norway did 150 years ago. Norwegian ski makers in the Morgedal Valley of the 1850s revolutionized the way equipment was made. Among them was Sondre Norheim who is considered the father of modern skiing. "And he developed this binding," Gjelstad said. "First it was only a toe binding and then he makes a heel binding so the skis and the shoes now get together, says Gjelstad".
