Telelaget of America in Telemark

In August Telelaget of America came to Telemark on their 100th Anniversary Tour. In Oslo they were welcomed to our country by the US Ambassador to Norway before they headed for Telemark and Bolkesjø. They visited a number of places in Telemark before they left 10 days later to go back to Oslo and Minnesota.

Dawn Syvertsen and Erling Dahl from Telemark County Council together with Rolf Haugen and Hermod H. Monsen from Telemark Heritage met the group at Bø on August 13. Then the group had visited most places in Telemark like Heddal, Tuddal, Rjukan, Morgedal, Eidsborg, Vrådal and Ulefoss. They told us that they were impressed by all that they had seen, and all the people that they had met. No complaints about the weather either, they escaped most of the rain that we have had this summer.

On their last evening in Telemark Telelaget was honoured by a cultural programme at the Gullbring Auditorium in Bø. This was a high class cultural performance that impressed everybody present, and there was not a vacant seat in the big auditorium when the performance started.
