Norwegian Day in Saskatchewan

A school in Oungre, Saskatchewan in Canada had a Norwegian Day in October. Many children brought a lot of small Norwegian things with them to school that day, things that came from Norway, maybe long, long time ago. At the school they had lefse, krumkake, flat bread and some Norwegian cheese. And all the children got to know where Norway is on the map.

The Norwegian Day in Saskatchewan was after Norsk Høstfest in Minot. From Telemark Heritage we could therefore supply them with some Freia Melkesjokolade, Norway-maps and Telemark-pens that a lady, Mrs. Lauretta Hansen from Oungre, brought with her back to Canada after the Høstfest. Freia Melkesjokolade has been the most popular chocolate in Norway for more than a century.
