Orion Samuelson to Skien and Telemark
Orion Samuelson, this time together with his wife Gloria, is back in Telemark.
Orion Samuelson is a familiar voice and face of the world's agriculture. He is regarded as the most recognizable agriculture figure in the world, and we are very proud of having him as our guest in Telemark in June. Orion and his wife Gloria arrive in Telemark on June 24 together with a delegation of approx. 35 farmers from the U.S.(more).
The Orion Samuelson delegation first stop in Telemark is the stave church in Heddal. They have their luncheon at Norsjø Hotel, and after lunch, after having visited Torstein Lindheim they continue to Ulefoss Mansion. At Ulefoss they will also make a brief stop at Søve Agricultural School and meet the Mayor of Nome, Jan Thorsen.
In Skien the delegation will visit Per and Tove Hoppestad's farm in Gjerpen, and Per and Tove's son Per Arne will give a talk about farming in Norway. After the visit at Hoppestad the Orion Samuelson delegation move to Arne Kise's farm, also in Gjerpen, and Arne's son Hans will introduce the delegation to his huge collection of vintage tractors. We also hope that the Mayor of Nome and representatives from Søve Agricultural School come to have visits with Orion Samuelson and the U.S. farmers when they are at the Gjerpen farms.
Orion Samuelson visited Skien and Telemark for the first time a few years ago, and then also with a delegation of American farmers. He brought a camera-man with him, and many pictures and video shots were shown on American TV afterwards. Hopefully more video shots from Telemark are shown on American TV after the visit in June this year.
The professional Norway guide for the delegation is Carrol T. Juven from Fargo, ND. He has personally escorted over 45,000 people on tour and has visited Norway 130 times !!.
